Oppo Find X10 Ultra May Get a MediaTek Chipset Option

The full camera setup of the Oppo Find X10 Ultra leaked earlier this week, but details about its processor have remained unclear. The Find X9 Ultra launched in April with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, so it would be reasonable to expect its successor to use another Snapdragon chipset. However, a new leak suggests Oppo could be considering a different option.

According to a tipster on Weibo, Oppo is currently testing a version of the Find X10 Ultra powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro. This variant is reportedly being tested with customised imaging algorithms, which could be designed to work with Oppo’s Lumo True Image Engine.

However, this does not mean the MediaTek version has been confirmed. In replies to the original post, the tipster revealed that a Snapdragon-powered version is also being tested, presumably featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Oppo has reportedly not made its final decision, although the Snapdragon variant is currently considered the more likely option.

If Oppo eventually chooses MediaTek, the Find X10 Ultra and Find X10 Pro Max could share the same chipset, with their camera systems serving as the main difference. The Ultra is rumoured to feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.12-inch sensor and LOFIC technology, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, a 50MP periscope camera with 10x optical zoom, and a 100MP front-facing camera with a square sensor. Further details are expected to emerge as development continues.
