Samsung is preparing to launch the W27, its latest China exclusive luxury foldable, on October 29. A leaked photo shared by a well known tipster reveals its design, while reports suggest its specifications will match those of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

The leaked image shows a dark blue rear panel with gold accents around the frame and camera island, along with the W series gold seal logo near the bottom. The phone also features the same pill shaped camera island and triple camera setup as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

Samsung releases a premium version of its latest Galaxy Z Fold model for the Chinese market each year through China Telecom. These W series devices typically feature black and gold designs, more RAM than their global counterparts, and larger retail packages containing additional accessories.

Last year’s W26 was based on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and introduced satellite calling and messaging through China’s Tiantong system. Its 512GB and 1TB versions both featured 16GB of RAM, while colour options included red and black with gold accents. Prices started at CNY 16,999, approximately $2,390, for the 512GB model, while the 1TB version cost CNY 18,999, around $2,670.

Since the W27 is expected to share its hardware with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, it could feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an 8 inch foldable display, a 6.5 inch cover screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 200MP main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra already offers a configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, suggesting the W27 could also come with 16GB of RAM as standard, following last year’s model.

Samsung has yet to reveal the W27’s price, but more details are expected ahead of its October 29 launch.
