Apple TV 4K From 2017 Officially Joins Apple’s Vintage List

Apple has officially classified the original Apple TV 4K, released in 2017, as a vintage product. The move comes as the company prepares to unveil new smart home devices on October 13, reportedly including an updated Apple TV.

Apple classifies products as vintage when more than five years have passed since they were discontinued from sale. Products become obsolete after more than seven years. While official repairs for vintage devices may still be possible, service availability can be limited. Obsolete products generally no longer qualify for official hardware servicing.

Despite the new classification, owners of the original Apple TV 4K can continue using their devices as long as they work properly and meet their needs. However, anyone experiencing hardware problems may want to contact an Apple service centre soon while repair options remain available.

With a potential new Apple TV expected to arrive in the coming days, existing owners may also consider upgrading to a newer model.
