One of the major new features introduced with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is the upgraded Siri AI, but the feature remains unavailable in the European Union despite Apple releasing both operating systems last month.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, users in the EU should not expect Siri AI to arrive “anytime soon”. Apple has yet to provide a specific release date for the feature in the region.
Gurman reports that Apple may be using the absence of Siri AI in the EU to encourage frustrated customers to push back against the bloc’s regulatory approach. If accurate, the strategy would see Apple customers pressure EU regulators over restrictions that are preventing the company from offering the feature in the region.

For an indication of how long the wait could be, Gurman points to the rollout of Apple Intelligence. Apple introduced Apple Intelligence outside the EU in October 2024, but the features did not become available in the EU until March 2025, around five months later.
Gurman believes Siri AI could follow a similar timeline in the absolute best case. However, he warns that the EU rollout could take considerably longer if Apple faces further regulatory challenges.
