Honor is set to unveil the Magic9 series on September 28, and the company continues to reveal details about its upcoming phones. At least the Magic9 Pro Max will feature a cinematic microphone, with Honor’s imaging innovator Han Han highlighting its ability to deliver a dynamic sound experience in everyday situations.

The cinematic microphone is designed to capture sounds from both near and far while keeping them clear. Honor has demonstrated its ability to pick up sounds ranging from fried food and coffee machines to clothes moving in the distance.

The microphone is expected to be particularly useful for video recording, where clear and accurate audio can improve the overall experience. The Magic9 Pro Max will also feature ARRI branding and incorporate ARRI’s color science, which Honor says will make everyday moments feel more cinematic.

The phone will also support a teleconverter that can be attached without covering the other two rear cameras. Honor has already revealed the price of the standard Magic9, while the Magic9 Pro Max is expected to cost more.
