Honor has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming Magic9 flagship series in China. The company has also given us an early look at the phones’ design and highlighted some of their camera capabilities, with pre orders already open in the country.

The Honor Magic9 series will make its debut in China on September 28, the company confirmed through a post on Weibo.
Honor has yet to confirm how many smartphones will be included in the lineup. However, recent leaks suggest the company could launch the Magic9 alongside the Magic9 Pro or Magic9 Pro Max.

The launch teasers confirm that the Magic9 series will feature a dual 200MP rear camera setup. The system includes a 200MP 1/1.28 inch main sensor with an f/1.57 aperture and a 200MP 1/1.4 inch telephoto sensor with an f/2.6 aperture. The phone will also support a new 500mm teleconverter, in addition to the existing 200mm teleconverter.

In terms of design, the Magic9 series features a large rectangular camera island with three cutouts. The biggest section houses the telephoto camera, LED flash and ARRI branding, while the remaining cameras are positioned in separate circular cutouts.
The phone is shown in a new Moss Green finish and features a pill shaped cutout on the front for the selfie camera and 3D ToF sensor. The Magic9 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to become the first Android phones to use a square selfie camera sensor.

The Magic9 series is already available for pre order in China ahead of its official launch.
Honor has also confirmed that it will introduce MagicOS 11, its next Android based software interface, next week.
