Huawei Pura X View officially launches with 200MP camera and 7,000mAh battery

Huawei has officially unveiled the Pura X View, revealing the full specifications, pricing and launch details of its unusual new smartphone. The device was first teased last month, but Huawei has now confirmed everything about the unique form factor.

The Pura X View features a 6.39 inch OLED display with a 1,320 x 2,232 pixel resolution, a 16:9.5 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 6,500 nits of peak brightness at 1% APL and is protected by Kunlun Glass. It also supports 2,160Hz PWM dimming and has symmetrical 1.05mm bezels on all four sides.

On the rear, the phone packs a 200MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and autofocus. Completing the setup is a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture, OIS and an 88mm equivalent focal length. For selfies, Huawei has included a 50MP front facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

The Pura X View is powered by the Kirin 9030S chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The phone also packs a massive 7,000mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, reverse wired charging and reverse wireless charging.

Huawei’s new smartphone runs HarmonyOS 7 and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Other features include BeiDou satellite messaging and a side mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Huawei Pura X View is available in Black, White, Gray and Red. Pricing starts at CNY 5,999, around $893, for the 256GB model. The 512GB version costs CNY 6,999, around $1,042, while the 1TB model reaches CNY 8,499, around $1,266.

Pre orders are already open in China, with sales officially beginning on September 9 at 10:08 AM local time. Huawei has not yet confirmed whether the Pura X View will be released in other markets.
