Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Book6 lineup with a new 14 inch laptop aimed at users looking for a more affordable Windows 11 machine. The new Galaxy Book6 starts at $800 in the US, £800 in the UK and €850 in Europe, with Linux also available as an option.
The laptop features a 14 inch 16:10 LCD display with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, 350 nits of brightness and an anti glare coating. It measures 15.7mm thick and weighs 1.35kg.
Power comes from a choice of Intel Core 3 or Core 5 315 processors. The entry model includes 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD, while higher configurations offer 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Samsung has fitted the Galaxy Book6 with a 61.2Wh battery that is rated for up to 25 hours of use on a single charge. Charging is supported at up to 45W through either of the two USB C ports. Other connections include USB A, HDMI 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack, while wireless connectivity includes Wi Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
The laptop also features stereo 2W speakers with Dolby Atmos, dual microphones and a 2MP camera. However, the keyboard does not have backlighting.
Samsung is also bringing several Galaxy ecosystem features to the new laptop. Quick Share allows files to be transferred between compatible Galaxy devices, while Storage Share lets users access files stored on other Galaxy devices without moving them. Second Screen can turn a Galaxy Tab into an additional display, while Multi Control allows the laptop’s keyboard and mouse to control other Galaxy devices.
Other features include Note Assist for summarizing notes, AI Cut Out for removing photo backgrounds and AI Select for identifying and providing information about items selected on the screen.
The Galaxy Book6 comes in Gray and a new Violet Silver color option. In Europe, pricing starts at €850 for the 8GB/256GB model, while the 8GB/512GB version costs €1,000 and the 16GB/512GB model costs €1,200. These European configurations come with the Core 5 processor.
In the US, the Galaxy Book6 will be available through Samsung.com and Amazon starting October 5. Canada will receive the laptop for $1,200, although a release date has not yet been announced.
Samsung also offers another 14 inch Galaxy Book6 equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors, but that model sits at a higher price point than this new entry level version.
