Huawei has opened pre orders for its upcoming Mate XT 2 tri fold smartphone in China, revealing the device’s color options and storage configurations ahead of its official launch on September 7.

The Huawei Mate XT 2 will be available in Dark Black, Pure White and Jin Purple color options. The company has also confirmed that the foldable will come in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations.

Huawei will additionally offer a privacy matte display version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The top end model will feature 16GB of RAM and 2TB of storage and will come bundled with a stylus.

Alongside opening pre orders, Huawei has shown the Mate XT 2 from different angles, giving us a closer look at its design. The phone features an octagonal rear camera module that closely resembles the setup used on the original Mate XT.

However, the Mate XT 2 introduces a major design change compared with the Mate XT and Mate XTs. Instead of the previous outward folding approach, the new tri fold uses an inward folding design and includes a cover display.

Huawei has also released another promotional video showcasing some of the Mate XT 2’s features and functionality.

The Mate XT 2 is expected to be powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset and feature a 6,000mAh battery. It is also rumored to use a rear camera system similar to the one found on the Huawei Mate X7.
