Sony is preparing to unveil a new Xperia smartphone on August 25, and the device is widely expected to be the Xperia 10 VIII. An official looking image has now surfaced online, giving us an early look at the phone’s design.

Sony recently announced a launch event scheduled for 11 AM Japan time on August 25. The company only confirmed that a new Xperia product will be introduced without revealing its name. The Xperia 10 VIII is the likely candidate after recently appearing on Geekbench.
The leaked image shows a design that looks very similar to the Xperia 10 VII. The rear features a dual camera setup inside a horizontally positioned camera module with Sony branding, while an NFC logo sits underneath.
On the right side, the Xperia 10 VIII has a volume rocker and a power button that is expected to double as a fingerprint scanner. The previous Xperia 10 VII also included a dedicated camera shutter button below the power key, although the leaked image does not clearly show whether Sony has retained it.

Geekbench has already revealed some of the phone’s hardware. The Xperia 10 VIII is expected to run Android 16 and use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, the same processor found in its predecessor. The tested model had 8GB of RAM, although it remains unclear whether Sony will offer additional memory configurations.
The Xperia 10 VII was available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, so the Xperia 10 VIII could follow a similar configuration. More details should be confirmed when Sony officially unveils the device on August 25.
