Tecno has announced a major upgrade to its EllaClaw AI agent, introducing new capabilities that extend beyond task automation to include system-level optimization and cross-app interactions.

Originally unveiled in March as Tecno’s implementation of the OpenClaw framework, EllaClaw was designed to automate smartphone tasks through natural language commands. The latest update significantly broadens its functionality, allowing the AI assistant to manage device resources more intelligently while interacting with a wider range of applications.

One of the biggest additions is system-level optimization. EllaClaw can now help improve battery life, manage mobile data usage, and free up storage space through automated tools that run in the background while maintaining strict permission controls.

Users can activate features such as Smart CleanUp Boost, which reduces system lag by reclaiming RAM and optimizing CPU resources. The assistant can also use Smart Power Drain Check to identify applications consuming excessive battery power and recommend actions to improve endurance. During demanding workloads, Instant Cool-down Relief can optimize background processes to help reduce device strain and maintain performance.

Tecno has also focused on users in emerging markets with the introduction of Smart Data Guardian. This feature monitors data consumption patterns and provides recommendations designed to help users stay within their preferred usage limits.

For significant system modifications, EllaClaw follows a confirmation-first approach, ensuring users remain informed and in control before major changes are applied.

The AI assistant now incorporates persistent memory and adaptive learning capabilities, allowing it to understand user habits and preferences over time. According to Tecno, this enables features such as personalized morning briefings that combine calendars, travel plans, weather updates, and news summaries. The system can also function as a Trip Prep Assistant by organizing schedules, setting reminders, and coordinating transportation arrangements.

A key enhancement is the introduction of cross-app automation. With user permission, EllaClaw can securely interact with third-party applications across categories including transportation, online shopping, food delivery, and smart home services. Tecno says the system performs actions in a visible and transparent manner, allowing users to monitor each step as tasks are completed.

The updated platform also introduces one-sentence ride-hailing requests, enabling users to book transportation through natural conversation. Smart home integration allows monitoring of connected devices, while a new Shopping Buddy feature helps users identify suitable products and deals within supported e-commerce applications such as Lazada.

With these additions, Tecno is positioning EllaClaw as more than a traditional smartphone assistant, aiming to create an AI platform capable of managing device performance, coordinating daily activities, and interacting across multiple services from a single conversational interface.
