Apple is reportedly preparing the second-generation iPhone Air, with a launch currently expected in spring 2027. The device follows the original iPhone Air, which debuted in September 2025, and is said to introduce notable upgrades while keeping a familiar design.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming model is internally codenamed V62 and is being developed with a focus on camera and battery improvements.

The biggest change is expected on the rear camera system. Unlike the first-generation model, the iPhone Air 2 is said to include a dual-camera setup, adding an ultrawide lens alongside the main sensor for more versatile photography.

The overall design is expected to remain close to the current version, though Apple is reportedly working on improving battery performance. It is still unclear whether this will be achieved through a larger battery unit or more efficient hardware and software optimization.

The iPhone Air 2 is expected to launch alongside the standard iPhone 18 lineup in spring 2027 and could be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip, the same processor rumored for the iPhone 18 Pro series.
