Motorola has quietly introduced the Moto G Max in Brazil, but the device is not entirely new. It is essentially the Moto G87, which was announced in late April and released in May, carrying a different name for the Brazilian market.
The Moto G Max is available through Motorola’s online store in Brazil for BRL 2,519.10.
The smartphone features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
On the back, the Moto G Max houses a 200MP main camera with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera. Selfies are handled by a 32MP front-facing camera.
The phone packs a 5,200mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging.
Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, as well as MIL-STD-810H durability certification. It also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and runs Android 16 out of the box.

The Moto G Max measures 164.58 x 77.37 x 7.38mm and weighs 183g.
It remains unclear whether Motorola plans to expand the Moto G Max branding to other markets or keep the name exclusive to Brazil while continuing to sell the device as the Moto G87 elsewhere.
