The next RedMagic tablet is set to launch in China as the RedMagic Tablet 5 Pro this month, a release already confirmed by the brand. Internationally, it is expected to be called the RedMagic Astra 2, following the pattern where the original Astra was a rebranded Tablet 3 Pro for global markets, and the number 4 was skipped due to tetraphobia.

The RedMagic Astra 2 has now been certified in China, and the listing confirms support for 80W wired charging.

According to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the tablet will feature a 9-inch OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is also said to include liquid cooling, RGB lighting, a transparent design, and an 8,300mAh battery.

The device is expected to come in multiple configurations, including 12/256GB, 16/512GB, 16GB/1TB, and 24GB/1TB. RedMagic typically brings its devices to global markets shortly after China launches, so an international release could follow later this month or in July.
