Yesterday we heard that Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo are all expected to unveil their next flagship smartphone series in September. Now, a new leak from the well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station suggests OnePlus and iQOO will follow the same schedule, with both the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16 also tipped for a September launch. If you guessed September, you’d be right. For context, the OnePlus 15 and iQOO 15 both launched in China last October.

September is shaping up to be an extremely packed month for smartphone releases in China. Many of these devices are also expected to reach international markets later, including the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16, although not in the same month.

There is typically a gap of several weeks before global availability. That means late October is likely the earliest we’ll see these phones outside China, with some regions possibly waiting even longer.

Leaks around the OnePlus 16 remain inconsistent, especially regarding its camera setup. As for the iQOO 16, details are still limited, with early reports simply suggesting it is in development and will also sit in a premium price range.
