Google Photos rolls out new AI Enhance tool to all Android users

Google is expanding its photo editing toolkit once again, this time bringing a new AI-powered enhancement feature to Google Photos users worldwide.

The newly introduced “AI Enhance” button now appears alongside the existing Enhance and Dynamic options within the Auto tab of the app’s image editor. It’s designed to offer quick, one-tap improvements to photos without requiring manual adjustments.

In real-world use, the feature focuses on subtle refinements—restoring highlights and shadows, correcting lighting issues, and slightly boosting colors. While it doesn’t dramatically transform images or outperform competing AI tools, it delivers balanced enhancements that avoid overprocessing.

Google notes that results may vary depending on the device, suggesting that some of the processing happens on-device. However, the feature still requires an internet connection to function, so it’s not fully offline-capable.

The good news is that AI Enhance is rolling out globally to Android users and is currently available for free, making it an easy addition to the growing list of AI-driven editing tools in Google Photos.
