Samsung is reportedly increasing production of its Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup this month, following stronger-than-expected demand for key models.

Initially, Samsung planned to produce 2.4 million units in April, broken down as:

800,000 Galaxy S26 units

300,000 Galaxy S26+ units

1.3 million Galaxy S26 Ultra units


Updated Production Targets

Due to shifting demand, Samsung has now revised its plans significantly:

1.3 million Galaxy S26 units (up sharply)

1.5 million Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra units (also increased)

200,000 Galaxy S26+ units (reduced)


This suggests that the standard S26 is performing better than expected, while the S26 Ultra continues to dominate interest, and the S26+ is lagging behind.

What’s Driving the Demand?

Industry sources point to features like the Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra as a key factor attracting buyers, helping it secure a larger share of total production.

To support this ramp-up, Samsung had already stockpiled additional components in March, ensuring it could quickly scale manufacturing in April.

Adjustments in Mid-Range Production

Interestingly, Samsung is also cutting back production for some mid-range models:

Samsung Galaxy A57: Reduced to 1.6 million units (from 1.8 million)

Samsung Galaxy A17: Reduced to 3.9 million units (from 4.4 million)
