Samsung is set to improve wireless charging on the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, according to a new listing on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) website. The listing includes three model numbers believed to correspond to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, confirming that all three devices will support an updated wireless charging standard.
The documentation reveals that the Galaxy S26 lineup will use the Qi 2.2.1 wireless charging specification, enabling charging speeds of up to 20W or potentially more. This aligns with earlier rumors suggesting the Galaxy S26 Ultra could support up to 25W wireless charging, which would be a welcome upgrade over previous Samsung flagships that have traditionally trailed some competitors in this area.

That said, the phones are listed as supporting only the Base Power Profile (BPP) rather than the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP). As a result, the Galaxy S26 models will not include built-in magnets for Qi2 accessories, meaning magnetic chargers and accessories will only work properly with compatible cases. With magnetic wireless charging becoming more common in the premium segment, this decision may leave some potential buyers feeling underwhelmed despite the faster charging speeds.
