Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition, continuing its long-standing tradition of releasing special devices for the Olympic Games. This limited-edition smartphone is dedicated to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, scheduled to take place from February 4 to February 22, and is designed specifically for participating athletes.
As with previous Olympic Editions, Samsung will gift the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition to every competing athlete. Nearly 3,800 athletes from around 90 countries are expected to receive the device, making it an extremely limited release. Historically, many of these Olympic Edition smartphones eventually find their way onto resale platforms, given their exclusivity and collectible appeal.
According to Samsung’s official press release, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition “introduces an iconic design that commemorates athletes’ participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as well as practical services to help enhance their experience in the Olympic Village and throughout competition.” The device features a distinctive blue rear panel that aligns with the visual identity of Milano Cortina 2026, while also reflecting Samsung’s brand heritage and the cultural significance of Italian azure. Samsung further notes that the color symbolizes unity and sportsmanship, values closely associated with the Olympic Games.
Complementing the blue finish is a gold metal frame, which Samsung says represents athletes’ pursuit of excellence and their aspirations for podium success. The phone ships with a clear magnetic case featuring a blue circular magnet encircled by gold laurel leaves, a classic symbol of victory and achievement in sports.
On the software side, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition comes with exclusive wallpapers and a pre-loaded set of apps tailored for athletes. These include Galaxy Athlete Card, which enables digital profile sharing and interactive engagement, and Athlete365, a platform offering performance resources, mental health support, and essential competition updates. Additional pre-installed apps include the official Olympic Games app, the IOC Hotline, and PinQuest.
Samsung is also providing athletes with a 100GB 5G eSIM, a practical addition that ensures reliable connectivity during the Games, even as many athletes continue using their primary smartphones. Distribution of the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will begin on January 30 at Olympic Villages across six host cities, ensuring athletes have access to the device ahead of the competition.
