iQOO 15 Ultra confirmed to feature shoulder triggers with 600Hz sampling rate and haptic feedback

The iQOO 15 Ultra is officially set to launch in China next month, and the brand has already started building anticipation by revealing key design elements and features. Recently shared official images confirmed the phone’s overall design and color options, but one detail that immediately caught attention was the presence of touch-sensitive shoulder triggers on the right frame. Now, iQOO has confirmed exactly how advanced these triggers will be.

According to a Weibo post by iQOO’s product manager, the iQOO 15 Ultra’s shoulder triggers will support a 600Hz sampling rate and feature built-in haptic feedback. This setup is designed to deliver extremely fast response times, which is crucial for competitive mobile gaming. To further reduce latency, iQOO is using two independent control chips dedicated solely to handling the triggers, ensuring precise and consistent input during gameplay.

The product manager also revealed that these touch-sensitive shoulder triggers will be sweat-resistant. iQOO has implemented a proprietary “anti-sweat” algorithm to maintain accuracy even during long gaming sessions, when moisture from hands could otherwise interfere with touch inputs. This makes the triggers more reliable in real-world usage, especially for gamers who play for extended periods.

Beyond raw performance, iQOO highlighted several advantages of touch-sensitive triggers compared to traditional mechanical button triggers. One major benefit is durability. Since these triggers do not rely on physical moving parts, they are said to have an almost unlimited lifespan, avoiding the wear and tear that mechanical buttons typically suffer over time.

To address the lack of physical feedback often associated with touch controls, iQOO is using a linear motor to simulate a press. This haptic response helps maintain a consistent feel, even after prolonged use, and ensures that users receive clear confirmation of each input. Additionally, because the triggers sit seamlessly within the phone’s frame, there is less chance of dust or dirt accumulation, which can be a long-term issue with raised mechanical buttons.

Another advantage highlighted by iQOO is latency. Traditional shoulder buttons can sometimes introduce delays due to mechanical limitations, but touch-sensitive triggers paired with high sampling rates and dedicated chips are designed to eliminate this issue. The result should be faster and more reliable input, especially in fast-paced games.

The presence of shoulder triggers on the iQOO 15 Ultra is no accident. iQOO has repeatedly emphasized its focus on mobile gamers, and these triggers are aimed at improving control in games with complex on-screen layouts, particularly FPS titles. With support for presets and combination inputs, shoulder triggers can make advanced controls easier and more intuitive.

The product manager also noted that iQOO users strongly identify as gamers, and the iQOO 15 Ultra has been built with that audience in mind. This gaming-first approach aligns with earlier rumors suggesting the device could feature an active cooling fan to manage heat during intensive gaming sessions.

Previous leaks have also claimed that the iQOO 15 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, positioning it as a true flagship-level performance device. While iQOO has not officially confirmed all specifications yet, more details are expected to surface in the coming weeks as the launch date approaches.
