RedMagic 11 Air Launches with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 7,000mAh Battery, and Active Cooling Fan

RedMagic has officially introduced the RedMagic 11 Air in China, positioning it as a unique bridge between slim smartphones and full-fledged gaming phones. While the “Air” branding suggests a lighter and thinner device, the phone still stays true to RedMagic’s gaming DNA with aggressive hardware, an active cooling fan, and a transparent design that highlights its performance-focused internals.

At the heart of the RedMagic 11 Air is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same flagship platform that powered last year’s top-tier Android phones. Paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM offering a memory bandwidth of 9,600MB/s, the device is clearly designed for sustained high performance. Storage options go up to 512GB of UFS 4.1, delivering read speeds of up to 4,200MB/s, which should translate into faster game loading times and smooth multitasking.

The front of the RedMagic 11 Air is dominated by a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,216 x 2,688 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. RedMagic continues its tradition of offering an uninterrupted viewing experience by integrating a 16MP under-display selfie camera, eliminating the need for a punch-hole or notch. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and also houses an optical fingerprint scanner for biometric security. For gamers, the high refresh rate and clean screen design enhance immersion, especially during fast-paced gameplay.

Despite being thinner and lighter than most gaming phones, the RedMagic 11 Air does not compromise on cooling. The phone measures just 7.85mm in thickness and weighs 207 grams, yet it still includes an active cooling fan that can spin at speeds of up to 24,000 RPM. This fan is complemented by RGB lighting, reinforcing the gaming aesthetic while helping to manage thermals during extended gaming sessions. Additionally, the phone comes with an IP54 rating, providing protection against dust and light water splashes, a feature not commonly found in gaming-focused smartphones.

On the back, the RedMagic 11 Air features a dual-camera setup. The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.55-inch size, optical image stabilization, and a 23mm equivalent focal length. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera for capturing wider scenes. While photography is not the main focus of the device, the camera hardware should be more than capable for everyday use and casual content creation.

Battery life is another major highlight. The RedMagic 11 Air packs a large 7,000mAh battery, which is impressive given the phone’s relatively slim profile. It supports 120W wired fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery and get back to gaming without long interruptions. On the software side, the phone runs RedMagic OS 11.0 based on Android 16, offering gaming-centric features, performance tuning options, and customization tools tailored for power users.

In terms of design and color options, the RedMagic 11 Air is available in Quantum Black and Stardust White. Both variants retain the brand’s signature transparent elements, giving the phone a futuristic and performance-driven look. Pricing in China starts at CNY 3,499 (around $502) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the top-end 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is priced at CNY 4,199 (around $602). The devices are already listed on Nubia’s official online store, although RedMagic has not yet announced a timeline for international availability.

Overall, the RedMagic 11 Air stands out as a compelling option for users who want flagship-level gaming performance in a slightly slimmer and more refined form factor. With its Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, active cooling system, massive battery, and ultra-fast charging, it delivers a strong balance between power and portability. While global launch details are still missing, the RedMagic 11 Air clearly signals that gaming phones can evolve beyond bulky designs without sacrificing performance.
