iQOO 15R teased, design revealed

iQOO has begun teasing a smartphone for the Indian market, confirming that the iQOO 15R is launching soon. The teaser was shared by iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya on X, marking the first official mention of the device. While the company has not yet disclosed the full specifications, the post includes a teaser image that offers a clear look at the phone’s design.

Alongside the image, Marya described the iQOO 15R as delivering “power-packed performance with a perfect fit,” suggesting that the device will focus on strong performance credentials while maintaining a balanced form factor. No launch date has been announced so far, but the wording indicates that the official unveiling is not too far away.

Based on the design language shown in the teaser, the iQOO 15R appears to be closely related to the recently launched iQOO Z11 Turbo, which debuted in China last week. The camera module shape, overall layout, and rear panel styling are similar, pointing to the possibility that the iQOO 15R could be a rebranded or slightly modified version of the Z11 Turbo for international markets.

If this turns out to be the case, the iQOO 15R could inherit some impressive hardware. The iQOO Z11 Turbo is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1,260p resolution. It also packs a large 7,600mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 100W fast charging, positioning it as a strong option for users who prioritize battery life and charging speed.

In China, the Z11 Turbo runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box and is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. On the camera front, it sports a 32MP front-facing camera, while the rear setup includes a 200MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens.

Additional features of the iQOO Z11 Turbo include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, reverse wired charging support, and both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. If the iQOO 15R mirrors most of these specifications, it could emerge as a compelling performance-focused smartphone in its segment once it launches in India.

For now, iQOO has only confirmed that the iQOO 15R is “coming soon,” with more details expected to be revealed in the days ahead.
