Samsung Galaxy S26 to Introduce True Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Charging

Galaxy S26 Ultra Renders

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series appears set to make a significant leap in wireless charging technology, moving from “Qi2-ready” support to full, native magnetic Qi2 capabilities. Recent leaks suggest that Samsung is preparing a new magnetic wireless charger for the S26 lineup, potentially allowing users to experience proper magnetic alignment without needing specialised magnetic cases.

The charger, referenced as model EP-P2900, is expected to replace Samsung’s earlier 15W Qi2-compatible charging pad and could deliver faster speeds when paired with supported S26 models. Reports indicate that the charger will support up to 25W wireless power delivery, particularly when used with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the standard S26 and S26+ may deliver slightly lower wattage. This improvement may stem from the newer Qi2.2 standard, which is designed to offer better efficiency and improved thermal handling during charging.

With true magnet-based Qi2 integration, users could benefit from faster charging, better coil alignment, and a more streamlined accessory ecosystem. This would open the door to accessories similar to Apple’s MagSafe environment, including magnetic stands, chargers, wallets, and car mounts that attach and align securely. It also means users may no longer need third-party accessories just to enjoy magnetic charging.

However, it is worth noting that all information is based on leaks, and Samsung has not yet confirmed details of the charger or the wireless charging performance of the S26 range. Official visuals of the hardware are also yet to surface, so the expected design and finish remain speculative.

If confirmed, the Galaxy S26 could be the first Samsung flagship to offer a fully integrated magnetic charging system, marking a notable shift in how Samsung approaches wireless power. For users who have long desired a more reliable, magnet-based wireless charging experience, the S26 series may deliver exactly that.
