OnePlus has revealed more details about the OnePlus 16 ahead of its official unveiling next week, confirming key specifications of the upcoming flagship’s display.

The phone will feature a BOE X4 LTPO OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. However, the maximum refresh rate will only be available in gaming mode. Everyday tasks will run at up to 165Hz, while supported games such as Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future, Naruto Mobile and Peace Elite will allow users to unlock the additional 20Hz.

OnePlus confirmed that the display uses BOE’s X4 luminescent material and supports a minimum hardware brightness of 1 nit for comfortable viewing in low light. The company also highlighted the panel’s low power consumption, claiming it can match the power efficiency of a 120Hz display.

The OnePlus 16 display will include several eye protection features, including TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 6.0. It is also expected to feature extremely slim 1.15mm bezels, manufactured using the Low Injection Pressure Overmolding process.

Other display related features include a dedicated display chip, a separate chip for touch response and another chip for connectivity.

The OnePlus 16 will launch in China with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and a 9,000mAh battery. Its camera setup will include a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
