OnePlus 15 gets ColorOS 17 Open Beta ahead of October 13 launch

Oppo has confirmed that ColorOS 17 will launch globally on October 13, and OnePlus has opened registrations for users who want to try the new software ahead of its official release.

However, the update currently available is the ColorOS 17 Open Beta rather than the final version. For now, only users in India can apply, with registrations open from October 9 to October 12, one day before the official launch.

Eligible users should back up their data before installing the beta, as the unfinished software may contain bugs and other issues. Users can also return to OxygenOS 16 using OnePlus’ rollback package, but doing so will erase all data on their devices.

The update will mark the end of OxygenOS for OnePlus 15 users, who will permanently move to ColorOS once the final build becomes available.

Oppo has kept many details about the new software under wraps, but it has teased features such as “fluid motion” and “refined visuals.” These hints suggest redesigned interface elements and smoother animations, alongside new features expected to be revealed on October 13.
