Samsung Electronics has announced its earnings guidance for the third quarter of 2026, covering the period from July to September.

Samsung reported approximately KRW 195 trillion ($145.33 billion) in consolidated sales, while consolidated operating profit reached approximately KRW 107.40 trillion ($80 billion).

For comparison, Samsung recorded KRW 171.5 trillion ($127.78 billion) in consolidated sales during the second quarter of 2026, with operating profit reaching KRW 89.49 trillion ($66.68 billion).

In the third quarter of 2025, Samsung reported consolidated sales of KRW 86.06 trillion ($64.13 billion) and operating profit of KRW 12.17 trillion ($9.06 billion).

The major surge in Samsung’s Q3 2026 operating profit comes as demand for memory chips continues to rise, driven largely by the rapid growth of AI technologies.

Despite the strong earnings, Samsung’s Mobile eXperience division is reportedly cutting smartphone production for the fourth quarter of 2026, with reductions of up to 30% expected. An industry source said Samsung smartphones are no longer generating profits when sold because of rising memory and semiconductor costs.
