Amazon has announced three new Kindle models, bringing updated colors, thinner and lighter designs, and longer battery life. All versions now feature flush displays, with select models offering aluminum backs.

The 12th generation Kindle keeps the 6 inch E Ink display but gets more rounded corners and a seamless flush design. The new design also allows the display borders to match the color of the rest of the device.

The Kindle is available in Ube, a deep purple shade, alongside Graphite, Alpine Sky, and Seaglass Green. The Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green versions feature aluminum backs. All models are 1mm thinner than the previous generation, with plastic versions weighing 140g and aluminum models weighing 160g.

Amazon says the new Kindle opens books 30% faster than the previous 11th generation model. The power button has also been moved to the right side, while battery life reaches up to six weeks.

The 12th generation Kindle starts at $150 in Ube and Graphite with 16GB of storage. Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green versions with aluminum backs offer 32GB and cost $190.

Amazon has also introduced the seventh generation Kindle Paperwhite, which features a thinner and lighter design and up to 12 weeks of battery life. It retains the 7 inch E Ink display but gets an improved contrast ratio for better readability in sunlight.

The standard Paperwhite comes in Graphite with 16GB of storage for $200. The Signature Edition adds an aluminum back, an auto adjusting front light sensor, and 32GB of storage. It is available in Graphite and Seaglass Green for $250.

The second generation Kindle Colorsoft is also slimmer and lighter than its predecessor and adds a new Fig color alongside Graphite. A Signature Edition with an aluminum back is also available. The standard Colorsoft starts at $290, while the Signature Edition costs $320.

Amazon has also introduced new Kindle accessories, including the $35 Kindle Click Bluetooth page turn remote, the $80 Page Turn Cover with integrated page turn buttons, and a $60 charging dock.
