OnePlus has confirmed a major battery upgrade for the upcoming OnePlus 16 ahead of its launch in China on October 12.

The OnePlus 16 will pack a 9,000mAh battery, according to company executive Li Jie Louis in a Weibo post.

Compared to the OnePlus 15, which features a 7,300mAh battery, the new model will have 1,700mAh more capacity. The larger battery is expected to provide longer battery life, particularly alongside the more efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.

OnePlus has also confirmed support for 50W wireless charging.

The company previously revealed that the OnePlus 16 will feature a 200MP main rear camera and come in three color options. The phone will also have a 185Hz display, with a system wide refresh rate of 165Hz.
