Apple has finally launched Apple Pay in India, twelve years after introducing its payment service in the United States. The service is currently limited to selected bank cards.
Apple Pay is available across Apple devices in India, excluding Mac for now. Apple has confirmed that support for macOS will be added soon.

The payment service currently supports Visa and Mastercard credit cards issued by Axis Bank. Users can add their cards to Apple Wallet and use tap to pay at thousands of supported merchants or make online payments. Apple Pay also supports NFC transactions.
Apple has highlighted the privacy features of Apple Pay in an official press release. The company says the service does not store users’ actual card numbers on their devices or its servers, and does not share those numbers with merchants.
