Qualcomm is reportedly considering an official solution to improve PC game emulation on Android. According to a Chinese YouTuber, the company may introduce proper DirectX 12 support for its Snapdragon chips.

If implemented, the feature could make it easier to emulate PC games on Android. The YouTuber tested the capability on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reference device and successfully ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong through a translation layer using DirectX 12 mode.

It remains unclear whether Qualcomm plans to bring the feature to other chipse8ts beyond its latest flagship platforms. There is also no confirmation on whether the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 would receive the feature through a driver update, as that could depend on individual smartphone manufacturers.
