Google’s new premium notebook lineup, reportedly called Googlebook, is set to open for pre-orders on September 21. While Google has yet to reveal official hardware from its partners, new renders of the Asus Googlebook obtained by The Mac Observer offer a closer look at what to expect.

The Asus Googlebook uses a familiar laptop design but features a distinctive “G” key and an RGB light bar on the lid. Based on previous leaks, these two design elements are expected to appear across the Googlebook lineup.

The renders also show a large touchpad and a full-sized keyboard, while the connectivity options appear to be quite extensive. The side of the laptop reveals at least two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Interestingly, this particular Asus Googlebook model appears to use an active cooling system. That would be somewhat unexpected for a premium Chromebook-style device, although Google could offer different configurations with and without active cooling. This version may be designed for more demanding workloads.

More details about pricing and availability are expected when pre-orders begin on September 21.
