Xiaomi has officially unveiled the 18 Fold, its first wide format foldable smartphone. The new device features a design similar to the rumored iPhone Ultra and also comes in a cherry red finish.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is powered by Xiaomi’s self developed Xring O3 chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. The 16GB versions use LPDDR6 RAM, while the 12GB models come with LPDDR5X.

The foldable display measures 7.58 inches diagonally with a 2,364 x 1,672 resolution, while the outer display measures 5.38 inches with a 1,168 x 1,712 resolution. Both panels support 120Hz refresh rates, a 2:1 aspect ratio and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. The cover screen is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0.

For photography, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features a 200MP main camera using Samsung’s ISOCELL HP5 1/1.56 inch sensor. It is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with an 80mm focal length for 3.5x optical zoom and 160mm 7x in sensor lossless zoom, alongside a 50MP ultrawide camera. Both the inner and outer displays also have 16MP selfie cameras.

The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 20% silicon content and supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 and includes a side mounted fingerprint scanner built into the power button. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support are also included.

Xiaomi is offering the 18 Fold in Black, Red and Warm Gold, alongside a ceramic special edition. The phone measures 117.8 x 83.6 x 10.68mm when folded and 117.8 x 163.8 x 5.02mm when unfolded, while weighing 219g.

Pricing starts at CNY 10,999, around $1,638, for the 12GB/256GB model. The 12GB/512GB version costs CNY 11,999, while the 16GB/512GB model costs CNY 12,999. The 16GB/1TB version is priced at CNY 14,999, while the ceramic special edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 15,999. Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Fold will remain exclusive to China.
