Spotify has introduced a new feature called Reserved in the United States. The program is designed to reward an artist’s most dedicated listeners by giving them an opportunity to purchase concert tickets before they become available to the general public.

The company has not revealed the exact formula used to determine eligibility, saying it does not want users attempting to game the system. However, Spotify confirmed that factors such as listening activity, saved tracks, shares, and location all play a role in deciding who receives access.

Fans who qualify for a Reserved offer will see it on their Spotify home screen and will also receive notifications and emails. Spotify recommends keeping concert notifications enabled, updating the app regularly, and setting a location in the Live Events section to avoid missing opportunities.

Reserved offers can also appear in Search, on artist profiles, within the Live Events feed, and in the Now Playing screen. Once the access window opens, eligible users can select and purchase up to two tickets for available tour dates.

The purchase window generally lasts around 24 hours, although users are encouraged to buy early for the best selection of dates and seats. After choosing tickets, buyers are redirected to Ticketmaster to complete the transaction.

Some high-demand events may require fans to join a queue before reaching the checkout process. While Spotify guarantees access to two reserved tickets during the eligibility window, seat selection may vary depending on availability and queue position.

The feature is not limited to the nearest concert stop, allowing eligible fans to purchase tickets for any available date on a participating tour. Reserved tickets include different seating options and price ranges depending on the event.

Any tickets that remain unclaimed will be offered to the next group of eligible listeners. Spotify Reserved is currently available only for select artists and tours, and access is limited to Premium subscribers aged 18 and above.
