A new report is pushing back against recent claims that Apple’s first foldable iPhone has been delayed.

According to leakster Fixed Focus Digital, the foldable iPhone Ultra remains on track to be announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September. The source claims that while production capacity may be limited, Apple has not postponed the device’s unveiling.

Instead, the leak suggests that only the commercial release could arrive slightly later than the announcement, potentially by a few weeks. If accurate, the delay would be similar to Apple’s approach with the iPhone X, which was unveiled in September alongside the iPhone 8 series before reaching customers in November.

Recent reports had suggested the foldable iPhone could slip into early 2027, citing supply chain sources and production challenges. However, Fixed Focus Digital argues those reports are inaccurate and that Apple still plans to showcase the device this year.

That said, uncertainty remains. Analysts including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Barclays’ Tim Long have previously indicated that shipping timelines could extend beyond September, with some forecasts pointing to a rollout as late as December. Limited initial production could also make the device difficult to obtain until 2027, even if it is announced this year.

For now, the latest leak suggests Apple’s foldable ambitions remain on schedule for a September reveal, though the exact release date may depend on manufacturing capacity and launch inventory.
