New details about Xiaomi’s next foldable flagship have surfaced, giving an early look at what could become one of the company’s most ambitious foldable smartphones yet.

According to a leak from Digital Chat Station, the upcoming device—expected to launch as the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 or possibly the Xiaomi 17 Fold—will feature a large 7.5 to 7.6-inch flexible inner display. The panel is said to use advanced “seamless crease” technology aimed at making the fold line far less noticeable than on previous generations.

Battery life could also see a significant boost. The foldable is rumored to pack a battery of around 6,000mAh, which would place it among the largest batteries in the premium foldable segment. Wireless charging support is also expected.

On the camera front, Xiaomi may equip the device with a flagship-grade 200MP sensor, continuing the industry’s trend of bringing ultra-high-resolution cameras to foldable phones.

The leak further claims the handset will offer full water resistance, likely targeting a high IP rating, alongside a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security.

Perhaps the most intriguing detail is the rumored use of an in-house Xring chipset. Xiaomi has been investing heavily in custom silicon, and the Mix Fold 5 could become one of the first premium devices to showcase the company’s next-generation proprietary processor technology.

Pricing is expected to remain firmly in flagship territory. The tipster suggests a launch price of around CNY 10,000, which converts to roughly $1,400. While expensive, that would still position the device competitively against premium foldable rivals from Samsung, Honor, vivo, and Oppo.
