The OnePlus 16 continues to be the subject of conflicting leaks, with a new report suggesting a very different camera arrangement from what previous rumors claimed.

Earlier reports indicated that OnePlus was preparing to equip the OnePlus 16 with a 50MP primary camera alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. However, a fresh leak from well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station now paints a different picture.

According to the latest information, the OnePlus 16 could instead feature a 200MP main camera as its primary sensor. The device is also said to include a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera, creating a triple-camera setup focused on high-resolution photography.

The conflicting reports make it difficult to determine which specifications will ultimately make it into the final product. One possible explanation is that OnePlus is still testing multiple hardware configurations across different prototype units before deciding on the final camera system. As a result, information from separate test devices may be leaking simultaneously, leading to the contradictory claims.

Beyond the cameras, several other rumored specifications for the OnePlus 16 have surfaced in recent months. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, positioning it as OnePlus’ next flagship offering.

Display details have also attracted attention. The device is rumored to feature a 6.78-inch BOE-manufactured LTPO OLED panel with extremely slim 1mm symmetrical bezels. Previous leaks suggested the screen could offer a refresh rate of at least 185Hz, with some reports even claiming OnePlus is targeting a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz.

Battery capacity could be another major highlight. The OnePlus 16 has repeatedly been linked to a massive 9,000mAh battery, which would be one of the largest batteries ever fitted inside a flagship smartphone. Charging support is rumored to include 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

With the device still months away from an official unveiling, more leaks are likely to emerge. Until then, the exact camera configuration of the OnePlus 16 remains uncertain, with current reports split between a 200MP main camera setup and a 200MP telephoto-focused system.
