Spotify rolls out redesigned tablet interface with smarter layout and improved navigation

Spotify has introduced a revamped tablet experience for both Android tablets and iPads, focusing on making better use of larger screens rather than simply scaling up the mobile app.

The updated interface is built specifically for tablets, offering a more refined layout that allows users to browse, discover, and control playback simultaneously. Instead of just stretching the phone UI, the new design takes advantage of extra screen space to create a more immersive and functional experience.

One of the key improvements is a dynamic layout that adjusts between portrait and landscape modes. Rather than just resizing elements, the interface reorganizes itself to maintain a balanced and intentional look in both orientations.

A new interactive sidebar plays a central role in navigation, letting users explore content while music continues playing. The sidebar can also be expanded or collapsed depending on preference, adding flexibility to how users interact with the app.

Spotify has also made it easier to switch to video content, with a prominent toggle that allows quick access to a more immersive viewing mode. Despite these changes, the core navigation remains familiar, with the bottom navigation bar still in place to keep essential sections easily accessible.
