Google has raised the price of YouTube Premium in the United States, making the ad-free experience noticeably more expensive across all plans.

The new pricing is already in effect for new subscribers, while existing users will begin seeing the increase from early June.

The individual plan now costs $15.99 per month or $159.99 per year, up from $13.99 and $139.99. The family plan jumps to $26.99 per month (previously $22.99), while the student plan rises to $8.99 per month, up from $7.99.

The recently reintroduced YouTube Premium Lite has also seen a price bump, now sitting at $8.99 per month instead of $7.99.

While the full Premium subscription still offers ad-free viewing, background playback, downloads, and access to YouTube Music, the Lite tier remains more limited—it doesn’t include YouTube Music and still shows ads in areas like music videos, Shorts, and search results.

This latest increase continues the trend of rising subscription costs across streaming services, as platforms look to boost revenue while balancing feature offerings.
