Honor Magic V6 to Debut with IP69 Rating, Stronger Hinge and Striking New Red Finish

Honor will officially unveil the Honor Magic V6 at Mobile World Congress 2026 on March 1, but the company has already shared key details highlighting the durability upgrades of its latest flagship foldable.

The Magic V6 will carry both IP68 and IP69 ratings. While IPX9 rated devices are already available, including the previous Magic V5, the important change here is the first digit. A “6” rating means the device is completely dust tight, preventing any dust ingress. Most other foldables on the market are rated “5” for dust protection, which allows limited dust entry as long as it does not cause damage. With a full “6” rating, the Magic V6 raises the bar for durability in the foldable segment.

Honor is also introducing what it calls Advanced Display Protection. The inner display features reinforced backing for the ultra thin glass, designed to improve wear resistance and overall toughness. The company adds that new low reflectivity coatings reduce reflections to an industry leading 1.5 percent, improving visibility and display clarity.

Another major upgrade comes in the form of the Honor Super Steel Hinge. Built from what the brand describes as the strongest commercially available steel, the hinge is engineered to deliver improved structural integrity and long term reliability, addressing one of the most critical components in any foldable device.

To emphasize its confidence in the new design, Honor sent content creator Joe Weller to Thailand for a ziplining stunt where the Magic V6 was used as part of the attachment system rather than simply sitting in his pocket.

The device will also be available in a bold new red and gold color option, giving the foldable a more distinctive look compared to traditional finishes. Alongside the V6, Honor is expected to introduce the MagicPad 4 tablet and the MagicBook Pro 14 laptop. The company will also showcase a humanoid robot, in addition to its Robot Phone concept, rounding out what promises to be an event packed with innovation.
