Counterpoint Research: Samsung Galaxy A06 Was the Best-Selling Phone in LATAM for 2025

Samsung emerged as the dominant force in the Latin American smartphone market in 2025, securing four spots in the region’s top ten best-selling devices. According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, the Samsung Galaxy A06 claimed the number one position, accounting for 7% of all smartphone sales across Latin America during the year.

The Galaxy A06’s strong performance highlights Samsung’s continued success in the budget and entry-level segments, which remain the backbone of smartphone demand in the region. Alongside the A06, three other Samsung devices made it into the top ten rankings: the Galaxy A16, Galaxy A15, and Galaxy A56, further reinforcing the brand’s widespread appeal.

Motorola also maintained a solid presence in the region. The Moto G15 secured third place overall, while the Moto G05 and Moto G35 ranked sixth and eighth respectively. Xiaomi rounded out the competitive landscape with three devices in the top ten, including the Redmi 14C in fourth place, the Redmi A5 in seventh, and the Redmi Note 14 4G in tenth.

One of the key insights from the report is that 80% of the top ten best-selling smartphones in LATAM during 2025 were 4G devices. This underscores the region’s continued preference for affordable smartphones rather than premium 5G models. Most of the devices on the list carried an average selling price below $200, highlighting the strong demand for budget-friendly options.

Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina remained the four largest smartphone markets in Latin America throughout 2025. Looking ahead, global smartphone prices are expected to rise in 2026, which could extend device replacement cycles and reduce overall demand across multiple regions, including LATAM. However, this shift may also accelerate 5G adoption in the region as consumers look to future-proof their next purchases.

Overall, Samsung’s Galaxy A06 leading the charts reflects both the company’s strategic focus on value-driven devices and the broader market dynamics shaping smartphone demand in Latin America.
