Apple is reportedly facing challenges with the development of its AI-driven Apple Intelligence platform and the upgraded version of Siri. The company first introduced Apple Intelligence during WWDC 2024, but several promised features have yet to roll out, raising concerns about delays.
A recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that the enhanced Siri would not be part of the upcoming iOS 26.4 update due to issues discovered during internal testing. The report, based on information from an internal source, suggested Apple needed more time to refine the experience.

However, Apple has responded to the speculation. When asked by CNBC about the delay, a senior executive stated that the AI-powered Siri is “still on track to launch in 2026.” Although the company did not provide a specific timeframe, the statement indicates that development plans remain intact.
With 2026 as the target, the upgraded Siri will likely arrive after iOS 26.4, possibly alongside a major hardware launch such as the iPhone 18 series.
Apple has also reportedly adjusted its strategy for the AI-powered Health+ service, choosing to integrate its features gradually into the existing Apple Health app instead of launching it as a standalone product. This restructuring could be contributing to the slower rollout of Apple Intelligence features.
For now, Apple maintains that its next-generation Siri remains scheduled for 2026, signaling continued commitment despite recent development hurdles.
