Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e has appeared in multiple leaks recently, and a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now adds more weight to those claims. According to Gurman, Apple’s next affordable iPhone will focus on internal upgrades rather than a major redesign, keeping it familiar while addressing some of the most common criticisms of its predecessor.

Gurman says the iPhone 17e will be powered by the new A19 system-on-a-chip and will finally gain support for MagSafe charging, a feature that was notably missing from the iPhone 16e. In addition, the device is expected to use Apple’s latest in-house connectivity components, including the C1X cellular modem and the N1 wireless chip, continuing the company’s push to rely less on third-party silicon.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 17e is expected to retain the same $599 starting price as the 16e. The report also suggests that the launch is close, with recent leaks pointing to a February 19 announcement. Design-wise, Apple is reportedly sticking with the existing look, skipping the Dynamic Island and keeping a design that is largely unchanged from the iPhone 16e.
