iPhone 17e reportedly launching this month with three notable upgrades

Apple’s affordable iPhone 17e could launch sooner than expected, with new reports suggesting a late-February announcement instead of a Spring release. The device is expected to bring a few key upgrades while largely keeping the same overall design.

According to Macwelt, Apple may unveil the iPhone 17e via a press release on February 19, similar to how the iPhone 16e was announced last year. One notable upgrade is the addition of MagSafe support, enabling magnetic accessories and wireless charging speeds of up to 25W, while the phone is said to retain the notch design.

A separate report from Mac Otakara claims the iPhone 17e will look almost identical to its predecessor and will not feature Dynamic Island, contrary to earlier rumors. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by the A19 chipset, alongside the second-generation Apple C1X modem and the N1 wireless network chip, with most other specs remaining unchanged.

The same report also mentions that Apple’s upcoming iPad 12 will reportedly use the A18 chip instead of the previously rumored A19.
