Realme has officially unveiled the Realme Neo8 in China, expanding its Neo lineup with a performance-focused smartphone that combines flagship-level hardware with aggressive pricing. The device brings together Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a massive 8,000mAh battery, and a durable IP69-rated build, positioning it as one of the most powerful Neo series phones to date. The Realme Neo8 is now available for purchase in China in three color options.
The Realme Neo8 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, making it well-suited for gaming and high-frame-rate content. The panel is sourced from Samsung and uses the M14 AMOLED technology, which Realme claims can reach a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight.
On the design front, the Realme Neo8 stands out with a transparent rear panel that showcases a futuristic aesthetic. The back also includes Realme’s signature “Awakening Halo” RGB light strip, which lights up for notifications, charging status, and other system alerts. The phone uses a glass back panel, a metal frame, and comes with an IP69 rating, offering strong resistance against dust and high-pressure water jets.
In terms of optics, the Realme Neo8 is equipped with a triple rear camera setup. The primary sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX896 camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). This is paired with a 50MP JN5 periscope telephoto lens that supports 3.5x optical zoom, along with an 8MP ultrawide camera for wider shots. On the front, the device houses a 16MP selfie camera for video calls and social media use.
Powering the Realme Neo8 is a huge 8,000mAh battery, one of the largest seen in a mainstream smartphone. The battery supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up despite the large capacity. The phone also includes bypass charging, a feature particularly useful for gamers, as it helps reduce heat generation during extended gaming sessions while plugged in.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring top-tier performance and fast data speeds. Realme has also added a large vapor chamber cooling system to keep temperatures in check during intensive tasks such as gaming and video rendering.
Software-wise, the Realme Neo8 runs Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 out of the box. The company has integrated several AI-driven features across the system, focusing on performance optimization, photography, and daily usability. Realme has confirmed that the Neo8 will receive three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches, aligning with its recent software support commitments.
Additional features on the Realme Neo8 include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, infrared blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, and stereo speakers. Despite packing a large battery, the phone measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs 215 grams, which is relatively reasonable given its capacity and build.
The Realme Neo8 is currently available in China in Cyber Purple, Mecha Grey, and Origin White color options. Pricing starts at CNY 2,599 (around $370) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 3,099 ($445). For users who want more memory, the 16GB + 256GB version costs CNY 2,899 ($415), while the 16GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 3,399 ($490). At the top of the lineup is the 16GB + 1TB variant, which retails for CNY 3,899 (approximately $560).
With its flagship chipset, massive battery, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and rugged IP69 build, the Realme Neo8 aims to deliver strong value in the upper mid-range to flagship segment, at least in the Chinese market.
