Honor X5d Series Launches as Familiar Faces with Minor Refresh

Salsa Gadgets

Honor has introduced the Honor X5d and Honor X5d Plus, but there’s a twist—these devices are essentially rebranded versions of last year’s X5c lineup.

While the core specs remain unchanged, Honor adds a bit of freshness with a new Tidal Blue color option, alongside the standard Midnight Black.

Display and Performance

Both models feature:

6.74-inch IPS LCD display

HD+ resolution

90Hz refresh rate

5MP front camera in a waterdrop notch

Side-mounted fingerprint scanner

Under the hood, they are powered by the MediaTek Helio G81, paired with 4GB RAM.

Storage differs slightly:

X5d: 64GB storage

X5d Plus: 128GB storage

Both devices run MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15.

Cameras and Battery

The key difference between the two lies in the camera setup:

X5d: 13MP main camera (f/2.2)

X5d Plus: 50MP main camera (f/1.8)

Both include a secondary QVGA (0.08MP) sensor and feature IP54 dust and water resistance.

Battery life is identical across both models, with a 5,260mAh battery supporting 15W wired charging.

Pricing and Availability

The devices are currently listed in Malaysia:

Honor X5d (4GB + 64GB): MYR 369 (~$93)

Honor X5d Plus (4GB + 128GB): MYR 459 (~$115)

Overall, the X5d series doesn’t bring anything new to the table in terms of hardware, but it offers reliable budget specs at affordable pricing, now with a refreshed look.
