Perplexity can now answer medical questions based on your Apple Health data

Perplexity AI has introduced a new feature called Perplexity Health, designed to deliver more accurate and personalized answers to medical-related questions.

The feature works by aggregating health data from multiple sources, including Apple Health, allowing the AI to track metrics and trends over time. Using this data, it can generate personalized insights, including fitness plans, nutrition advice, and general health guidance through its AI agent tool, known as Perplexity Computer.

At launch, Perplexity Health integrates with platforms like Apple Health, Fitbit, Ultrahuman, and Withings, with support for additional services such as Oura and Function expected in the near future. The rollout is currently limited to Pro and Max users in the US.

Given the sensitivity of health-related information, Perplexity says it has implemented strong safeguards. The system has been trained on electronic health records from over 1.7 million care providers, alongside clinical guidelines, peer-reviewed journals, and premium medical literature.

To further ensure accuracy, the company has also established a Perplexity Health Advisory Board, made up of physicians, researchers, and health tech experts who oversee the system’s outputs and safety standards.

This announcement follows Perplexity’s recent partnership with Samsung, where its AI capabilities are being integrated into the Galaxy AI ecosystem, signaling a broader push into advanced, real-world AI applications.
