Fresh leaks are shedding more light on Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Max. Earlier reports had already hinted at its battery capacity and chipset, and now new information focuses on its camera setup and expected launch window.
According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a massive 200MP main camera using a 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPx sensor. This is a notable upgrade over the standard Xiaomi 17, which is expected to ship with a 50MP primary rear camera, positioning the Max variant as the clear imaging-focused model in the lineup.

In addition to the high-resolution main sensor, the Xiaomi 17 Max is tipped to include a 50MP periscope telephoto camera based on a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX8-series sensor. This will be accompanied by another 50MP ultrawide camera, suggesting a triple-camera system designed to deliver versatility across zoom, landscape, and low-light photography.
The same leak suggests that Xiaomi could unveil the 17 Max in Q2 2026. The device is also expected to carry over Leica-branded camera features found on other Xiaomi 17 series phones, continuing the company’s partnership-focused imaging strategy.
Previous rumors indicate that the Xiaomi 17 Max may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is also said to pack a large 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. In terms of design, the phone is expected to closely resemble the standard Xiaomi 17, despite its upgraded internals.
